THE PIARIST FATHERS IN ASIA

Piarist Fathers that have carried out their ministry in Japan and the Philippines until June 1999.

 

1. Fr. Feliciano Perez Altuna (1905-1995), from 1950 to 1967. He was the "first Japanese missionary", the first Rector of Yokohama Community, first Parish Priest of Yokohama, first Director (only with the tittle) of Kaisei. Provincial Delegate from 1958 to 1967. In 1967 was nominated Vasconia Provincial.

 

2. Fr. Pedro Luis Perea Urabayen (1924- ), in 1950-51 and from 1963 until today. Was a Parish Priest in Yokkaichi, Rector of Tokyo, Master of Novices, Provincial Delegate in 1973-76.

 

3.    Fr. Javier Iraola Piñuetaco (1929-1998), from 1952 until his death. Was Master of Novices, Parish Priest of Yokkaichi, Rector of Tokyo and Yokkaichi, Provincial Delegate from 1976 to 1984.

 

4.    Bro. Gabriel Iriarte (1931- ), from 1952 to 1966, always in Yokohama.

 

5.    Fr. Enrique Rivero Rodrigo (1927 - ), from 1952 to 1995. Director of Kaisei during many years, first Rector of Yokkaichi and Parish Priest. Provincial Delegate in 1967-73.

 

6.    Fr. Ignacio de Nocolas Rodriguez (1928 - ), from 1952 to 1961.

 

7.    Fr.Imanol Lasquibar Urquiola (1929 - ). From 1952 to 1970, and in the Philippines from 1995 until today. He was Rector of Yokkaichi and Director of Kaisei. First General Delegate of Japan-Philippines (1996-97), first Rector of the house of Cebu and first President of the house of Manila. Master of Juniors.

 

8.    Fr. Lorenzo Errandonea Errandonea (1928 - ), from 1953 until today. Parish Priest of Yokohama for many years. Rector of Yokohama and Tokyo. Master of Novices.

 

9. Fr.Tomas Urruchi Guerra (1922 - ), from 1957 to 1960.

 

10. Fr. Feliciano Espinosa (1924 - ), from 1958-to 1960.

11. Bro. Jesus Cegama San Martin (1940 - ), from 1958 until today,  in Yokakkichi and Tokyo.

 

12. Fr. Jesus Lacarra Hernandez (1932 - ), from 1959 until today; in the Philippines since 1995 until today. Parish Priest and Rector of Yokkaichi.

 

13. F. Eugenio Monreal Zia (1935 - ), from 1959 until today. Rector of Yokkaichi, First Piarist Parish Priest of Yokkaichi, Director of Kaisei, Parish Priest of Yokohama.

 

14. Fr. Jose Luis Velasco (1930 - ), from 1959 to 1969.

 

15. Fr. Luis Arsuaga Arcelus (1934 - ), from 1960 to 1969.

 

16. Fr. Andres Demeño Maeztu (1936 - ), from 1961 until today. Rector of Yokkaichi, teacher of Kaisei for  many years.

 

17. Fr. Agustin Arriola Garcia (1937 - ), from 1961 to 1971.

 

18. Fr. German Lumbreras Castillejo (1939 - ), from 1968 until today. Parish Priest of Yokohama, Director of Kaisei, Parish Priest of Yokkaichi, Provincial Delegate and Vicarius from 1984 until 1996.

 

19. Fr.Jose Luis Irurzun Arzoz (1940 - ), from 1968 until today. Teacher of kaisei.

 

20. Fr. Manuel Ros Orts (1924 - 1992), some months in 1977, being a novice.

 

21. Fr. Javier Renteria Campos (1957 - ), 1984-1988.

 

22. Fr. Rafael Buitrago Barrientos (1962 - ), in the Philippines Since 1995. Director of the Calasanz Cultural Center of Cebu.

 

23. Fr. Jose P. Burgues Dalmau (1953 - ), in the Philippines since 1977. Master of Novices, Rector in Cebu, General Delegate since 1997.
